Covenant Christians
Whether you are leaving a faith tradition, searching for something real, or simply curious — you are welcome here.
About Us
We are a body of believers rooted in the Restoration of the gospel — the work begun through the prophet Joseph Smith. We are non-denominational.
We do not belong to, and are not affiliated with, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or any other institution. We would accept anyone of any faith to be baptized. We meet informally — in houses or in borrowed and rented facilities. We don't spend money on structures. Our fellowships are voluntary, gathered in houses or in public places.
Tithes that we gather are dispersed to those in need, and 100% goes to help people. No one is paid; everything is voluntary and not compensated.
Of tithes go directly to people in need — no administration, no salaries
Volunteers. No paid clergy. No hierarchy of control.
To anyone of any background. Baptism is available to all.
The Center of Everything
We are called Covenant Christians because Jesus Christ is not peripheral to what we do — He is the reason for all of it. Every scripture we publish, every gathering we hold, every baptism we perform is done in His name and oriented toward His return.
We bear testimony that Jesus Christ lives. He speaks. He is engaged with the world. He has His eyes upon all the earth. Many of the details that people assume are happenstance in their lives are not — the Lord is involved in every life.
We believe in His literal second coming — that He will return in glory, and that the entire purpose of what we are doing now is oriented toward being ready to welcome Him when He comes.
Baptism in our community is performed in the name of Jesus Christ — not as an act of joining an institution, but as an act of following Him.
"These scriptures are sent forth to be my warning to the world, my comfort to the faithful, my counsel to the meek, my reproof to the proud… They are my invitation to all mankind to flee from corruption, repent, and be baptized in my name, and prepare for the coming judgment."— The Lord, Teachings and Commandments 177:3
"Jesus Christ lives, speaks, is engaged, has His eyes upon all the earth, and many of the details that you think are happenstance in your life are not so. The Lord is involved everywhere, and He is involved in every life."
— Denver C. Snuffer, Jr., St. George, Utah, April 2026
Just as Christ's first coming was modest and largely unrecognized by the religious establishment of His day — they studied scripture intensively and still missed Him — so too His second coming will not unfold as most expect. We are paying attention, and orienting our lives toward Him.
Core Convictions
Faith needs to be in God, in the Restoration, in the Scriptures, in a relationship with the Almighty — not in any institution or its leaders.
Joseph Smith was called by God to restore the fullness of the gospel. He translated the Book of Mormon by the gift and power of God and received genuine revelations and authority from God.
Joseph Smith restored scripture — expanding what we know about creation, Adam, Enoch, Abraham, Moses, the scattering of Israel, and events before the Lord's return.
We believe God is speaking to us now. His word is ongoing. He does not forsake us. The production of our scriptures was made possible by the Lord's direct involvement.
We plan to welcome the Lord's return in glory. We intend to build a temple. The work underway is preparation for that moment.
We reject polygamy as a principle. Joseph Smith was opposed to it. Family — built on the covenant of a man and a woman — is more valuable than anything money can buy.
We are called to bear one another's burdens. Those with profound needs — like children with disabilities — should attract the care, support, and love of an entire community.
A Word for Seekers
Don't throw the Restoration away. There is a place to land.
Very often, when people depart from the LDS Church, they depart into agnosticism or atheism. We believe that loss is unnecessary. The Restoration itself — the work Joseph Smith began — remains true, joyful, and alive. What has fallen short is the institution, not the gospel.
"If your tolerance for error is increasingly creating a gag reflex for you in the LDS Church, don't throw the Restoration away. Look over here. See if you can preserve your faith — because we still respect, honor, believe, and trust in the restoration of the gospel that came through Joseph Smith."
We are not trying to co-opt or steal members from any denomination. We believe in accepting the truth, in being baptized to follow Christ, and then pursuing the course of truth wherever it takes us. If that allows you to fellowship with a Presbyterian or a Catholic, do so — but be unmistakable about where the truth lies.
Setting the Record Straight
We do not merely tolerate Joseph Smith — we defend him, clearly and without apology.
Joseph Smith was a good man: genuinely called by God, authentically humble, and relentlessly devoted to truth at the cost of his own life. He translated the Book of Mormon by the gift and power of God — a text of such theological depth and internal consistency that no 19th-century farm boy, however gifted, could have fabricated it. He received real revelations, restored genuine authority, and gave the world scriptures that expand our understanding of God, creation, and eternity far beyond what any other prophet of his era produced. He did this while being hounded, imprisoned, tarred and feathered, driven from state to state, and ultimately murdered by a mob — and through all of it, he never recanted, never wavered, and never abandoned the people who depended on him.
The charge that Joseph Smith introduced polygamy is, in our view, false — and the historical record, examined carefully, supports that conclusion. He was actively opposed to the practice, brought disciplinary proceedings against those he found involved in it, and the weight of credible evidence indicates he intended to call Brigham Young before the high council upon his return from mission precisely because of these allegations. The polygamy practiced by Brigham Young and institutionalized after Joseph's death was a departure from what Joseph taught, not a continuation of it. That the modern LDS Church — in its own essays — now accuses Joseph Smith of sexual coercion of minors in order to justify a practice he opposed is not a carefully reasoned historical conclusion; it is a slander against a martyr, a rewriting of history to protect an institution that long ago abandoned fidelity to the Restoration he founded.
The Lord himself spoke to Joseph Smith in Liberty Jail — cold, chained, unjustly imprisoned — and said: "The pure in heart, and the wise, and the noble, and the virtuous shall seek counsel, and authority, and blessings constantly from under your hand… your God shall stand by you for ever and ever." That promise was not made to committees or correlation departments. It was made to Joseph Smith. We take it seriously. We honor the man the Lord honored, and we receive with gratitude the scriptures, revelations, and restored understanding he gave his life to deliver.
The Word of God
A century of combined effort went into producing these. They are the most complete and accurate scriptures available — the fulfillment of what Joseph Smith was commanded to produce.
Scriptures anchor God's word. Without them, changing leaders provide changing messages. Leaders always sound an unsteady note if they are not controlled by, subordinate to, and respectful of scripture.
